SPPIRIT Forum is a series of online meetings that aims to bring parasitologists together to discuss various areas of parasitology research, share experience with different aspects of academic career, and network. The forum is free, and open to all parasitologists worldwide, with focus on early career researchers.

5 June 2026: Presented by Marketa Novotna, SPPIRIT Forum organiser, in this journal club Scott, the 1st author of the article, explained how they used the hyperLOPIT spatial proteomic method determine the localisation of a large number of proteins and to shed light on the evolution of Plasmodium organelles.

20 March 2026: In this session we explored the differences in the practical aspects of research of trypanosomatids and apicomplexans. Jennifer Ann Black and Jack Hanna discussed the available techniques and the day-to-day work with various kinetoplastids, cryptosporidium, and toxoplasma.

22 August 2025: Journal club presented by SPPIRIT committee member Jack Hanna and co-hosted by Benjamin Liffner, 1st author of the research, who answered questions about the article, and explained the intricacies of ultrastructure-expansion microscopy of mosquito tissue.
